Delta 8 THC - High Quality Hemp-Based Products from a Trustworthy CBD Brand
The hemp plant offers many potential benefits, some of which include pain relief, mood enhancement, energy, and relaxation. In the same way that hemp is versatile, so too are Delta 8 THC products. If you’re unfamiliar with Delta 8 (aka Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol) or hemp in general, let us introduce you to it so you can have a better experience.
Delta 8 and the Cannabis Plant
Let’s start with the basics: what is cannabis? You may have heard of or seen the popular plant and wondered, is this where all CBD products come from? The answer is yes and no. Cannabis belongs to the family Cannabaceae, of which there is Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. The two are differentiated primarily by their physical appearances and the effects they have when consumed.
Cannabis goes by many names, some of which originated in various parts of India and Africa. Many products, such as CBD oil, smokable CBD, and CBD edibles, use the cannabis plant as a foundation for their creation. Hemp and Marijuana are the same species Cannabis Sativa L, which understandably accounts for much of the confusion. However Hemp is not marijuana and marijuana is not hemp. Another way to say it is that all Hemp is cannabis but not all cannabis is Hemp. Marijuana and hemp are different varieties of the same species and may look similar, but have completely different chemical compositions.
Hemp Cannabis contains primarily CBD and a minimal amount of THC (less than .3%), which may give those who partake a mild “high” feeling when they consume it. Cannabis plants contain about 100 active substances (cannabinoids), all of which are naturally occurring chemical compounds that bind with receptors throughout your body and have very low toxicity.
What are Delta 8 Products?
Delta 8 THC products are derived from the Cannabis sativa plant in ways that can be used for both therapeutic and recreational purposes. Delta 8 THC is the only product that contains all six Delta 8 phytocannabinoids all in one compound. Products made with Delta 8 THC deliver effects similar to actual cannabis (ganja) and contain a psychoactive component that may leave people feeling mildly intoxicated.
Delta 8 vs Delta 9 THC: What’s the Difference?
Although there are similarities between Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC, the two are not the same. Delta-9 THC is what most people refer to when they say THC. While both have psychoactive components that give off a “high” feeling, Delta 8 has a different chemical structure from Delta 9, which makes it milder than its counterpart. The structure of Delta 9 THC is very similar to the structure of neurotransmitters located in the brain, which is why the effects of Delta 9 THC are more pronounced. Its moderate potency has earned Delta 8 THC the nickname of “Diet Delta 9” or “Delta 9 Lite.”
Most users say they find the two products similar, but have a less intense experience with Delta 8. Whereas Delta 9 is known for its immediate effects, Delta 8 is a smoother, softer ride, which makes it perfect for beginners.
Before you start searching for deals for Delta 8 near me, let’s investigate some of the benefits of Delta 8 THC as well as potential side effects.
How Will I Feel with Delta 8 THC?
Although to a lesser degree than Delta 9, Delta 8 THC can still give you a desired high feeling. More than feeling hazy and high, however, Delta 8 will probably leave you with a sense of calm and in a more relaxed, mellow state. Other feelings people experience with Delta 8 THC may include:
- Less stress and anxiety
- Hazy thinking
- Temporary pain relief
- Increased appetite
- Increased libido
- Slowed response time
Remember that everyone experiences the effects of Delta 8 THC differently depending on individual body chemistry and makeup. That’s why we suggest starting at a low dose and gradually increasing to reach your desired effect.
What Side Effects Should I Expect From Black Tie CBD Delta 8 THC?
Studies show that, although rare, some people experience the following side effects when taking Delta 8 THC:
- Changes in weight
- Changes in appetite
We highly recommend seeking advice from a healthcare professional prior to using any hemp products, including Delta THC products. Please also note that certain THC products may not be compatible with certain medications (for example, steroids, antidepressants, and antihistamines) and may have contraindications for some health conditions, for example (i.e., pregnancy, nursing, etc.). Using any form of THC including delta 8 THC products may result in exacerbated side effects if used incorrectly or if other health conditions are of concern.
Is it Legal to Purchase CBD Online?
It is legal to buy CBD products online as long as the THC component does not exceed 0.3%. According to the US Farm Bill of 2018, however, each state may still have their own legality surrounding the matter, so it is imperative that you check with your state’s regulations and adhere to specific state laws. As of now, the use and sale of CBD is prohibited in 3 out of 50 US states - South Dakota, Wyoming, and Idaho.
Please keep in mind that there is no specific legal documentation surrounding Delta 8 THC, so users must proceed with caution. The allowance of CBD does not directly apply to that of Delta 8 THC; furthermore, there may be regulations surrounding hemp dispensaries and the sale of hemp products.
The safest way to ensure that the CBD products you are getting are legal for purchase is to go through a company that is legally compliant and provides 3rd party lab analysis like Black Tie CBD. Another consideration should be the quality of the products; always try to purchase from companies that use high-quality, organic, and natural products to avoid potentially negative side effects.
Does Delta 8 THC Show Up on a Drug Test ?
Yes, both Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC cannabinoids will likely show up on drug tests, which may make them unsuitable products if you are in a position that prohibits this.
While there is no specific research on Delta 8 THC products’ detectability on drug tests, it can be assumed that using the products will yield a positive result on drug tests given that Delta 8 and Delta 9 have similar molecular structures, and the fact that modern drug tests tend to be rather sensitive.
As a safety precaution, it is best to totally avoid using CBD with any THC component several days prior to a drug test just to be sure you pass.
Where Can I Get Delta 8 THC Products Online?
Delta 8 THC products are available for sale at Black Tie CBD, making it easy and efficient to get the safe and reliable Delta 8 you’ve been looking for. As a reminder, there are no federal regulations specifically related to Delta 8 THC, so please use and purchase with caution.
How Should I Use Delta 8 THC to Get the Most Benefits?
Follow these tips for using Delta 8 THC to get the most benefits from the products and ensure that you have an enjoyable experience:
- Start with a low dose of Delta 8 THC and work your way up. We suggest that beginners (people who have never used CBD products with THC) start with CBD products with 0.3% THC or less to evaluate how your body reacts. If everything goes well, gradually increase until you get to the sweet spot.
- Follow the directions. Always make sure to follow the instructions on the packaging and never increase CBD/Delta 8 THC consumption beyond the recommended dosage.
- Be realistic with your expectations. Delta 8 THC products are not intended to get you high in the same way that Delta 9 THC might. Knowing that going in will help you have a more enjoyable experience.
- Experiment safely. Once you feel comfortable with full spectrum CBD products, then you may try Delta 8 THC, additionally you may feel comfortable enough to try different flavors and variations. Always enjoy safely and in moderation.

Frequently asked question
Are Black Tie CBD Products Legal?
Black Tie CBD products are in compliance with federal law and there for legal according to the
The 2018 Farm Bill & USDA Final Rule
In December of 2018, the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law. It removed hemp, defined as
cannabis (Cannabis Sativa L.) and derivatives of cannabis with extremely low concentrations of
the psychoactive compound delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)(no more than 0.3 percent THC
on a dry weight basis), from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
The 2018 Farm Bill defines hemp as “any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all
derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers with no more than a
.03% concentration of delta-9”.
Additionally, Black Tie CBD complies with the USDA Final Rule , which indicates that a
hemp crop is considered to be compliant if it is tested no more than thirty (30) days prior to
harvest using a postdecarboxylation method and the results show that the delta-9 THC value does
not exceed 0.3% on a dry weight basis:
“Postdecarboxylation. In the context of testing methodologies for THC concentration levels
in hemp, means a value determined after the process of decarboxylation that determines the total
potential delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol content derived from the sum of the THC and THC-A
content and reported on a dry weight basis. The postdecarboxylation value of THC can be
calculated by using a chromatograph technique using heat, gas chromatography, through which
THC-A is converted from its acid form to its neutral form, THC. Thus, this test calculates the
total potential THC in a given sample. The postdecarboxylation value of THC can also be
calculated by using a high-performance liquid chromatograph technique, which keeps the THC-
A intact, and requires a conversion calculation of that THC-A to calculate total potential THC in
a given sample.”
The postdecarboxylation value for THC, as described above, is synonymous with the Total THC
in a hemp sample. For this reason, it is clear that a pre-harvested hemp crop is not compliant
unless its Total THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
Total THC Is Not Applicable to Harvested Hemp
The USDA Final Rule only governs hemp production and not the regulation of hemp
distribution or hemp products which are governed by the Food and Drug Administration Farm
Bill. Therefore, after post-harvest, the USDA has no further jurisdiction over the hemp crop
leaving the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the only other agency with the authority to
regulate the hemp crop. The sole authority on post-harvested hemp is the Farm Bill and its
definition specifically defines hemp in terms of its delta-9 THC concentration, not its Total THC
One of the key aspects that allows for a higher concentration of THC-A is that during the thirty
(30) day harvest window in which a hemp crop must be tested for THC concentrations, the
plant’s cannabinoid concentrations, including THC, continue to increase. For this reason, pre-
harvest hemp which has been tested and determined to be compliant may have total THC
concentrations that exceed 0.3% when harvested. With that being said, the hemp crop will
remain compliance with FDA’s 2018 Farm Bill regulations as long as its delta-9
THC concentration does not surpass 0.3%
DEA Regulation of Hemp and Hemp Products
On August 21, 2020, the DEA published its Interim Final Rule (IFR) to further clarify that hemp
and hemp products are not controlled substances.
In order to meet the definition of “hemp”, and thus qualify for the exemption from Schedule I,
the derivative must not exceed the 0.3% delta-9 THC limit. The definition of “marihuana”
continues to state that “all parts of the plant Cannabis Sativa L.” and “every compound
manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant,” are Schedule I controlled
substances unless they meet the definition of “hemp” by falling below the 0.3% delta-9 THC
limit on a dry weight basis.
This ruling confirms that products distributed by Black Tie CBD are not controlled substances as
long as their delta-9 THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
Lawful Transportation of Hemp Products in Interstate Commerce
The 2018 Farm Bill legalized industrial hemp at the federal level and included a provision that
makes it illegal for states to prohibit the interstate transportation of hemp and hemp products as
No State or Indian Tribe shall prohibit the transportation or shipment of hemp or hemp products
produced in accordance with subtitle G or the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (AMA (as
added by section 10113) through the State or the territory of the Indian Tribe, as applicable.
This ruling makes it clear that Black Tie CBD is allowed to transport and ship hemp or hemp
products as long as the products are produced in compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill by not
exceeding a delta-9 THC concentration of 0.3% on a dry weight basis. Additionally, Black Tie
CBD products will not shipped to states with regulations that have enacted a “Total THC” testing
requirement imposing limitations on the requirements set out in the 2018 Farm Bill.
Black Tie CBD Federal Product Compliance
Based on the 2018 Farm Bill, USDA Final Rule, and DEA regulations, Black Tie CBD’s
products which contain delta-9 THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% and are not controlled
substances under Federal law. The above rules and regulations specifically define hemp in terms
of its delta-9 THC concentrations, not its Total THC content meaning Black Tie CBD products
are in full compliance for retail sales and distribution.
