The Importance of High Quality CBD Cartridges
Not every CBD cartridge retailer will disclose everything about their product. As a consumer, this puts you at risk for a lot of unknowns. With Black Tie vape cartridges, we ensure that you know exactly what you’re getting every time. None of our cartridges come with any unnecessary additives; we only include safe, pure products. Each cartridge comes in either a 1 mL or 0.5 mL size. Our products are designed to give you a top-notch experience with CBD vape pens no matter which size you choose.
What is a CBD Vape Pen?
All vape pens are forms of electronic cigarettes. The difference between a nicotine -based electronic cigarette and a CBD vape pen is the compound that is inside, namely nicotine vs. CBD. A CBD vape pen lets you experience all the benefits of cannabidiol through vaping instead of smoking. This reusable device can be taken with you wherever you go (wherever it is permitted), making for an easy way to transport CBD on the go.
What is a CBD Vape Cartridge?
A CBD vape cartridge is the tank within the CBD vape pen that can be changed out. This is what contains the CBD distillate. It’s a common misconception that there is MCT oil in vape cartridges, but this is not true. MCT oil is not intended for vaping, as it is unsafe for combustion. The premium hemp extract within Black Tie CBD vape pens is specifically designed to be combusted and is therefore safe for vaping purposes only.
Why Vape CBD?
There are many reasons people vape CBD as opposed to other forms of consumption. In fact, these days vaping is one of the most popular ways to consume cannabidiol.
The Benefits of Vaping CBD
Whether you want to maximize the fast-acting effects of CBD or like vaping CBD for its convenience, there are plenty of benefits to take advantage of by using a CBD vape pen.
Fast-Acting Effects. Smoking or vaping CBD provides for the highest bioavailability. Entering the bloodstream through the lungs, as with vaping or smoking, enables CBD to take effect quickly and retain its maximum content. This results in less CBD being wasted and its bioavailability potentially reaching 50%. This is particularly good news for people looking for something that will kick in fast.
Pure and Natural CBD. Vaping is one of the best ways to consume the most natural, organic form of CBD. The only thing that enters your bloodstream through this method are the cannabinoids. When consuming CBD through other means (i.e., edibles), there is always the possibility that other components could impact how the product affects you.
Vaping CBD is Easy. One of the reasons people like vaping CBD as opposed to smoking it or taking it in other forms is because of its user-friendliness. CBD vapes are convenient and can be taken with you on the go, almost wherever you go. They’re also exceptionally easy to use, even if it’s your first time.
The Benefits of Taking CBD
Whether you choose to vape, smoke, eat, or consume CBD in any other form, there are plenty of advantages that come with cannabidiol. Some of these include:
- Stress relief. CBD is well-known for its ability to act as a potential form of stress relief due to the way that the cannabinoids interact with the endocannabinoid system. Many people find that vaping CBD helps them reduce stress and relax.
- Help with anxiety. Numerous studies point to the connection between CBD and a reduction in experienced anxiety. Some research even suggests cannabidiol as a potential treatment remedy for anxiety disorders.
- Pain management remedy. When used in conjunction with certain other therapies, some research suggests that CBD may be a useful form of pain management. In fact, 60% of U.S. adults who use CBD products do so to reap the benefits of its possible pain-relieving properties.
- Help with insomnia. A large number of people take CBD as a pre-bed ritual to help them fall asleep and achieve a better night’s rest. CBD’s potential to help with stress and anxiety contributes to its possible role as a sleep aid.
There are many other potential benefits connected to CBD, some of which include the way it may reduce inflammation, its link to certain mental health conditions, its effects on appetite, the possible neurological impacts, and more.
Using a CBD Vape Pen and Cartridge
We mentioned this in our overview of the benefits of vaping CBD, but its user-friendliness is worth repeating. Using a CBD vape pen and cartridge is very easy. A CBD vape pen is a long-lasting device that you can use over and over again for several years. All you need to do is recharge your CBD vape pen and you’ll be good to go. CBD vape cartridges, on the other hand, are what need to be replaced. They come with CBD Distillate that gets consumed gradually but eventually runs out.
Can I Overdose on CBD Vape Oil?
It is highly unlikely the overdose on CBD vape oil, but that is not license to consume it without caution. Consuming too much CBD too quickly, whether by vaping or by other means, can cause you to experience certain side effects like fatigue, dry mouth, and dizziness. While this is not a sign of having overdosed, it could be an indication that you’ve done a bit too much in a short period of time. This is often the case when people vape a lot of CBD the first time they do it.
To prevent this from happening, keep track of the amount of CBD you’re vaping. This will allow you to get an idea of what the right amount is for you so you don’t overdo it in the future.
Is Vaping CBD Legal?
Consuming CBD in any form, whether by vaping CBD, smoking CBD, taking edibles, or using CBD topics, is legal with certain parameters. Consuming and selling CBD vape products are legal according to federal law, but with certain restrictions in various states and locations.
CBD vapes are completely prohibited in 3 out of the 50 U.S. states. Certain states allow the sale and consumption of CBD vape products with a doctor’s prescription, whereas others allow CBD so long as there is no THC content within it. The majority of states abide by the regulation that CBD vape products can be sold and consumed so long as they do not contain more than 0.3% THC.
It is always highly recommended to check with your local and state jurisdiction prior to purchasing or consuming CBD vape products. Also bear in mind that certain CBD vapes come with Delta 8 compounds, which may impact the legality of the product.
Do CBD Vapes Show up on Drug Tests?
Whether or not a CBD vape will show up on a drug test depends on the compound within the vape itself. If there is no THC in the compound, a CBD vape will not be detectable on a drug test. Tests are only designed to detect THC content.
CBD vapes with 0.3% Delta 9 THC, and some with higher amounts Delta 8 THC may show up as positive on drug tests. Despite the small amount of THC that is present, the fact that it is there may still be enough to yield a positive result.
CBD Vape Oil & CBD Vape Juice
CBD vape oil, more commonly referred to as CBD Distillate, is a liquid form of cannabidiol, a compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD Distillate is produced through a C02 extraction method and is relatively safe to consume as the gas solvent is filtered out in the process. Last, the material is lab-tested to ensure safety and compliance.
One of the reasons people like vaping CBD and using CBD vape oil is that it comes in a number of flavors, making it great for those who do not enjoy the natural taste of hemp extract. Black Tie Vape Cartridges are flavored with natural, cannabis-derived terpenes.
How to Use CBD Vape Oil
CBD vape oil is sold in pre-filled cartridges that use a heating coil to vaporize the product when inhaled. CBD oils typically last up to 500 puffs, which is equivalent to 25 mg of pure CBD.
CBD vape oil is made from high-quality hemp extract. When it comes from a reputable source, this extract is lab-tested to ensure the safety and potency of each product. The best CBD vape oils will be free of artificial flavors, harmful additives, yeast, wheat, gluten and other impurities.
How to Purchase CBD Vapes Safely
The best thing you can do to make sure you have a good experience using CBD vapes is to start by purchasing from a reputable company. There are many CBD retailers out there; buying from a reliable source is key to ensuring a safe CBD vape purchase. In addition to looking at company and product reviews, check to see that the products are third-party lab tested. This will be a clear indication of the credibility of the CBD vape products.
Other ways to be safe about your CBD vape purchase include:
- Know your CBD vape compound. Just like other CBD products, CBD vapes come as full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, pure, and with Delta 8 THC. Knowing what is in your CBD vape juice will help you avoid any unexpected surprises and have the best experience possible.
- Review the lab test results. Not only is it important to know that the lab results exist, but reviewing them could also help you align your expectations for the product with reality.
- Order CBD vape pens from Black Tie CBD. Being transparent and honest is what we’re all about. Black Tie CBD wants our users to have all the information they need to make informed decisions and purchases with their CBD products. For top-notch quality, exceptional customer service, and a product you’ll love, you have to go with Black Tie CBD.

Frequently asked question
Are Black Tie CBD Products Legal?
Black Tie CBD products are in compliance with federal law and there for legal according to the
following:
The 2018 Farm Bill & USDA Final Rule
In December of 2018, the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law. It removed hemp, defined as
cannabis (Cannabis Sativa L.) and derivatives of cannabis with extremely low concentrations of
the psychoactive compound delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)(no more than 0.3 percent THC
on a dry weight basis), from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
The 2018 Farm Bill defines hemp as “any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all
derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers with no more than a
.03% concentration of delta-9”. [1]
Additionally, Black Tie CBD complies with the USDA Final Rule [2] , which indicates that a
hemp crop is considered to be compliant if it is tested no more than thirty (30) days prior to
harvest using a postdecarboxylation method and the results show that the delta-9 THC value does
not exceed 0.3% on a dry weight basis: [3]
“Postdecarboxylation. In the context of testing methodologies for THC concentration levels
in hemp, means a value determined after the process of decarboxylation that determines the total
potential delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol content derived from the sum of the THC and THC-A
content and reported on a dry weight basis. The postdecarboxylation value of THC can be
calculated by using a chromatograph technique using heat, gas chromatography, through which
THC-A is converted from its acid form to its neutral form, THC. Thus, this test calculates the
total potential THC in a given sample. The postdecarboxylation value of THC can also be
calculated by using a high-performance liquid chromatograph technique, which keeps the THC-
A intact, and requires a conversion calculation of that THC-A to calculate total potential THC in
a given sample.” [4]
The postdecarboxylation value for THC, as described above, is synonymous with the Total THC
in a hemp sample. For this reason, it is clear that a pre-harvested hemp crop is not compliant
unless its Total THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% on a dry weight basis. [5]
Total THC Is Not Applicable to Harvested Hemp
The USDA Final Rule [6] only governs hemp production and not the regulation of hemp
distribution or hemp products which are governed by the Food and Drug Administration Farm
Bill. Therefore, after post-harvest, the USDA has no further jurisdiction over the hemp crop
leaving the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the only other agency with the authority to
regulate the hemp crop. The sole authority on post-harvested hemp is the Farm Bill and its
definition specifically defines hemp in terms of its delta-9 THC concentration, not its Total THC
content. [7]
One of the key aspects that allows for a higher concentration of THC-A is that during the thirty
(30) day harvest window in which a hemp crop must be tested for THC concentrations, the
plant’s cannabinoid concentrations, including THC, continue to increase. [8] For this reason, pre-
harvest hemp which has been tested and determined to be compliant may have total THC
concentrations that exceed 0.3% when harvested. With that being said, the hemp crop will
remain compliance with FDA’s 2018 Farm Bill regulations as long as its delta-9
THC concentration does not surpass 0.3%
DEA Regulation of Hemp and Hemp Products
On August 21, 2020, the DEA published its Interim Final Rule (IFR) to further clarify that hemp
and hemp products are not controlled substances.
In order to meet the definition of “hemp”, and thus qualify for the exemption from Schedule I,
the derivative must not exceed the 0.3% delta-9 THC limit. The definition of “marihuana”
continues to state that “all parts of the plant Cannabis Sativa L.” and “every compound
manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant,” are Schedule I controlled
substances unless they meet the definition of “hemp” by falling below the 0.3% delta-9 THC
limit on a dry weight basis. [9]
This ruling confirms that products distributed by Black Tie CBD are not controlled substances as
long as their delta-9 THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
Lawful Transportation of Hemp Products in Interstate Commerce
The 2018 Farm Bill legalized industrial hemp at the federal level and included a provision that
makes it illegal for states to prohibit the interstate transportation of hemp and hemp products as
follows:
No State or Indian Tribe shall prohibit the transportation or shipment of hemp or hemp products
produced in accordance with subtitle G or the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (AMA (as
added by section 10113) through the State or the territory of the Indian Tribe, as applicable. [10]
This ruling makes it clear that Black Tie CBD is allowed to transport and ship hemp or hemp
products as long as the products are produced in compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill by not
exceeding a delta-9 THC concentration of 0.3% on a dry weight basis. Additionally, Black Tie
CBD products will not shipped to states with regulations that have enacted a “Total THC” testing
requirement imposing limitations on the requirements set out in the 2018 Farm Bill.
Black Tie CBD Federal Product Compliance
Based on the 2018 Farm Bill, USDA Final Rule, and DEA regulations, Black Tie CBD’s
products which contain delta-9 THC concentrations do not exceed 0.3% and are not controlled
substances under Federal law. The above rules and regulations specifically define hemp in terms
of its delta-9 THC concentrations, not its Total THC content meaning Black Tie CBD products
are in full compliance for retail sales and distribution.
