Indica THCA Flower

Shop Indica THCA Flower from Black Tie, featuring indica and indica-leaning cultivars that rotate as new harvests become available. Indica is the label most commonly associated with relaxing, evening-oriented flower, and listings in this collection typically name late afternoon, evening, or night as the preferred time of use. Each product page lists the cultivar's phenotype and tier, along with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) for reviewing cannabinoid results before you buy. You can also browse Sativa THCA Flower, Hybrid THCA Flower, or the full THCA Flower collection.

Phenotype Labels

How Indica Flower Is Labeled at Black Tie

Each flower product page describes its phenotype in two places. The label beside the product name gives the short version, such as Indica. The Phenotype field in the product details gives the fuller classification, such as Indica-Dominant Hybrid (70/30) or Indica-Dominant Hybrid (90% Indica / 10% Sativa).

Many cultivars in this collection are listed as indica-dominant hybrids rather than pure indicas, and some are listed as balanced hybrids that lean indica. The collection brings together every cultivar whose listing leans indica, so the Phenotype field is the place to see where a specific cultivar sits.

How to Choose Indica THCA Flower

When comparing indica strains, consider more than the indica designation. Review each cultivar's aroma and flavor profile, cultivation tier, available quantities, and batch-specific Certificate of Analysis. These details provide a clearer picture of the flower you're purchasing and help you select a strain that matches your preferences.

Phenotype and Tier

Phenotype and tier are separate attributes. The phenotype describes the cultivar, while the tier in each product name, Exotic, Indoor, Light Dep / Light Assist, or Greenhouse, reflects the cultivation and quality standards the batch was produced under.

Multi-Strain Products

Multi-strain products such as THCA MINIS, THCA Trim/Shake, and THCA pre-rolls appear in all three phenotype collections because they're offered in several strains, so the phenotype depends on the strain you choose. The flower samplers appear here too, since they generally aim to include an indica, a sativa, and a hybrid when inventory allows. Each product page lists the sizes offered for that strain, and select strains are available in larger quantities through Bulk THCA Flower.

Origin of the Name

Where the Name Indica Comes From

French naturalist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck described Cannabis indica in 1785, basing the species on plants collected in India. In today's market, indica more often refers to broad-leaf plants associated with cannabis brought from Afghanistan and the Hindu Kush region. Botanists still debate how cannabis should be classified, so the market term and the botanical one don't line up neatly.

What the Indica Label Tells You, and What the COA Adds

The indica label carries some chemical meaning, but less than its reputation suggests. A 2021 study in Nature Plants found that samples labeled indica and sativa were not genetically distinct across the genome. The labels did track a handful of terpenes, with indica-labeled samples tending toward higher levels of myrcene, guaiol, and eudesmol.

The Batch COA

For a specific batch, the COA is the more direct reference. Where the report includes a terpene panel, it shows which compounds lead that batch, and Black Tie's complete set of reports is on the Lab Results page.

Phenotype ratios, preferred time of use, and effect descriptions on each listing reflect how the cultivar is characterized. The COA doesn't measure them, and individual experiences vary.

Three Phenotype Collections

Indica vs. Sativa and Hybrid THCA Flower

Indica This Collection
Listings that lean indica

Indica is one of three phenotype collections.

Sativa
Sativa and sativa-dominant

Sativa THCA Flower gathers sativa and sativa-dominant cultivars, with listings that typically point to morning or daytime use.

Hybrid
Balanced hybrids

Hybrid THCA Flower gathers balanced hybrids listed with roughly even indica and sativa character.

Each collection reflects how its cultivars are listed, without implying that one phenotype is better than another. To browse every cultivar together, visit the THCA Flower collection.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

What are THCA Flowers?

All (THC dominant) Cannabis is naturally high in THCA. THCA is the acidic precursor to THC Delta-9 and naturally forms prior to Delta-9 during the lifecycle of the cannabis plant. THCA also converts to THC Delta-9 through Decarboxylation, or heat.

Do THCA Flowers get you high?

Yes, through the process of decarboxylation, THCA can convert into THC Delta-9, which is psychoactive. Therefore, after undergoing decarboxylation, THCA flowers will produce euphoric effects when combusted (smoked).

What is the difference between Exotic, Indoor, Light Dep, and Greenhouse THCA Flower?

Black Tie carries four distinct production tiers. Exotic is our flagship living-soil flower, featuring extended curing periods and Full Panel testing as the lineup standard. Indoor is cultivated in coco coir under strictly controlled environmental conditions for maximum batch-to-batch consistency. Light Dep (Light Assist) is greenhouse-grown using a precision blend of natural sunlight and controlled light cycles, while Greenhouse flower utilizes natural Pacific Northwest sunlight in hoop-house structures. Each tier offers a unique price point, flavor profile, and verified lab documentation.

What makes Black Tie different from traditional dispensaries and online THCA brands?

Four concrete standards set us apart:

First, we source exclusively from rigorously vetted partner farms in Oregon and California using OMRI-certified organic inputs.

Second, our Exotic tier utilizes living-soil cultivation and slow-curing processes that commercial operations typically skip.

Third, we back our catalog with a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee—a policy virtually unheard of in the traditional dispensary space.

Finally, every product is backed by a third-party COA linked upfront, with Full Panel testing as the standard for our Exotic lineup. We are also the only hemp company to have placed at a High Times Cannabis Cup competing directly against traditional marijuana brands.

Are Black Tie CBD Products Legal?

Yes. Black Tie CBD products are fully legal under federal law in accordance with the 2018 Farm Bill. Our hemp undergoes compliant pre-harvest post-decarboxylation testing to ensure the psychoactive Delta-9 THC concentration does not exceed the legal 0.3% threshold on a dry weight basis. Furthermore, the DEA confirms that hemp-derived products meeting this standard are not controlled substances, allowing for lawful interstate commerce.

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and how do I read one?

Certificate of Analysis (COA) is an official document issued by an independent, ISO-accredited laboratory confirming a product's cannabinoid potency, Farm Bill compliance, and safety screening results. Every Black Tie product has its specific COA linked directly on the product page before purchase. For our Exotic tier, reports include a full safety panel screening for pesticides, heavy metals, microbial impurities, and a complete terpene breakdown.

What's your shipping policy?

We ship via USPS and UPS, with options from USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 business days) up to UPS Next Day Air Saver, and rates are calculated at checkout. We currently do not ship to California, Idaho, or Texas. Orders process within 6-72 business hours on a first-come, first-served basis, and you'll get tracking by email as soon as yours ships. Orders of $100 or more ship free via USPS Priority Mail (BT VIP), and only Priority Mail Express is delivery-guaranteed. Every order ships discreetly in unbranded packaging with no invoices inside — just a Thank You card and QR codes linking to our compliance paperwork and each product's Certificate of Analysis. All Black Tie CBD products are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill and contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC, so they ship lawfully.

If I need to return my order, can I do that?

Yes! We stand behind our quality with a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. If you aren't completely happy with your purchase, you can return eligible items within 30 days for a full refund of the product price.

Items must be unopened or minimally used. Original shipping charges and shipping insurance are non-refundable.

Do you offer wholesale?

Yes. Black Tie CBD proudly partners with retailers, dispensaries, and distributors through our wholesale program.

Simply complete our Wholesale Registration Form and provide the following documents:

  • A valid business license and/or seller’s permit
  • IRS Form SS-4 (FEIN letter)
  • Business name, location, and contact information
  • A short description of your business (e.g., retail, spa, dispensary, distributor)

What is Decarboxylation?

Decarboxylation is the chemical reaction that turns THCA into Delta-9 THC. Raw THCA isn't psychoactive on its own, but applying heat — through smoking, vaping, or baking — removes a carboxyl group and converts it into THC, the compound responsible for the "high."

Because THCA weighs more than the THC it becomes, the conversion isn't 1:1. The standard factor is 0.877, so a flower testing at 30% THCA yields roughly 26% THC once decarbed.
